Introduction

"Macao Foundation Caritas Transit - aided Service for PwDs" is launched to encourage those residents with mobility difficulty who are living in tenement buildings so as to increase their participation in the community, such as joining social and recreational activities, shopping, handling personal affairs or going downstairs to take transportation. It is instrumental to enhance their quality of life and build a caring and inclusive society.

 

Service Content

Apply stair climbers to assist people in need to go up and down safely, help them integrate into the community.

 

Target Group

Those who are legally residing in Macau and living in tenement buildings that have difficulty in getting up or down the stairs by themselves and are fit for going out, are eligible for this service. Those severely physically handicapped persons, senior citizens living alone, families of older parents and adult children with intellectual disability, who wish to settle specific personal affairs e.g. entry and exit of the territory, visiting government departments for certification, or participating in community activities etc. are all priority service users.

 

Service application process

1.     Call or visit in person to register and make an appointment;

2.     The staff visits and evaluates the applicant's residence;

3.     Arrange services to eligible persons.

4.     Remarks: Making an appointment as soon as possible helps service arrangements.

 

Service Charge

MOP $ 30 per time (upstairs/ downstairs). Free for first - time service users. MOP $ 10 per time for beneficiaries receiving social assistance. For details, please contact the staff.

 

Office hours

Monday to Saturday: 09: 00-13: 00, 14:00-18:00, closed on public holidays.

 

Service Hours

Mondays to Sundays: 08: 00-20: 00
