Introduction
The Suicide Prevention Services, the former Caritas Counselling Center, was established in August 1984. It was renamed as the Caritas-Life Hope Hotline of Macau on 1st January 2001 and the service hour was extended to 2 a.m. in October. Later, in response to social need, it officially began to provide 24 hours non-stop telephone emotional counseling services to residents in Macau in July 2003.
