Introduction

Caritas Macau Sunshine Center (former Sheltered Workshop) was established in 1986. Our aim is to assist people with disabilities who are not qualified for open employment, and to provide various types of training for them. It could enhance their working ability and get them well prepared for open employment.

Our centre’s service users are people with disability for 16 to 55 years. The training includes computer graphic designs, clerical computer skills, goods production and packaging training etc. It aims to develop their potential and to expand their chance of getting employed.

Objective

Provide training for the disabled enable them to cultivate work adaptability and develop good physical and mental health for them, thereby developing a spirit of self-confidence, self-improvement, and self-reliance.

Service Content

·         Individual counselling, Career treatment, group activities and leisure activities

·         Family gatherings and community advocacy work

·         Counselling, training, referral and follow-up work for open employment

Service Target

·        Target must meet the following-

1. Disabled people who have reached the age of 16 (priority to people who are physical handicap)

2. Mentally stable and in stable condition, without any serious behavioural problems

3. No infectious diseases, are able to take care of him/herself and with good health condition

Application: Evaluate by Instituto de Acção Social or referral by the centre
