Caritas Speech Therapy Service provides language and speech assessment and therapy services for pre-school and school children who have been diagnosed or suspected of having special needs.
With the belief that "life affects life", our team assists children who have special needs and developmental difficulties. After assessment and observation, we provide appropriate training, advice and support for children. We also assist parents to understand the situation of children's language / speech development and the ways of communication skill enhancement.
Types of Service
Speech therapist will assess the situation of children's language / speech development, including language understanding and expression, social skills, oral muscle coordination and speech sound.
Speech therapist will set appropriate training goal based on children's situation and special needs.
- Enhancing language understanding and expression
- Enhancing social communication skills
- Correcting pronunciation problems and improving speech clarity
- Enhancing oral muscle coordination for pronunciation or eating problems
- Enhancing voice use and speaking fluency
Encouraging parents' participation to improve children's language / speech development
Depending on situation, giving home follow-up advice to improve therapy effectiveness.
All our service users are referred and coordinated by Education and Youth Affairs Bureau. Applicants should contact Centre of Psycho-pedagogical Support and Special Education of Education and Youth Bureau for preliminary assessment or referral. Currently, we do not accept applications without referral.
